Who is hospital accompaniment for?

It suits any older parent who can still go to appointments but should not go alone. That includes parents who find hospital queues and counters tiring, who are unsteady on their feet, who get anxious in crowded waiting areas, or who come home unsure what the doctor actually said.

It is also for the family. Many people who book it live abroad or in another city, or work through the day and cannot take every follow-up off. A son in Dubai or a daughter in Pune cannot sit in the waiting area at a Bangalore hospital, but they can still know exactly what happened at the visit.

What happens on the day?

   Pick-up from home. The Genie arrives at your parent's home, checks they have what they need for the visit and travels with them. You book and pay for the cab directly.

   Registration and paperwork. At the hospital, the Genie helps with registration, the queue at the counter and any forms, so your parent can sit down while it is handled.

   Waiting and the consultation. The Genie stays with your parent through the waits and, with your parent's okay, joins the consultation to note the doctor's instructions, any new medicines and the date of the next visit.

   Tests, pharmacy and billing. If the doctor orders a test or a prescription, the Genie helps your parent find the right counter and keeps track of what still needs doing. Doctor's fees, test charges and medicines are paid by your family directly; the Genie never handles your money.

   Safe drop back home. The Genie brings your parent home and makes sure they are settled before leaving.

   An update on your WhatsApp. After the visit, a clear update reaches your WhatsApp: when the visit happened, what the doctor said, what was prescribed, and what still needs attention, with photos of prescriptions or receipts where relevant.

How do I prepare for the visit?

A little preparation makes the visit faster and the update more useful. When you book, tell us the hospital, the doctor's name and the appointment time, and anything the Genie should know about your parent, such as hearing difficulty, a walking aid or a preferred language.

• Keep the hospital card or patient ID, any previous prescriptions and recent test reports in one folder.
• Write down two or three questions you want the doctor to answer, and share them with us before the visit.
• Keep a current list of your parent's medicines, including anything they buy over the counter.
• Make sure your parent has eaten (unless a test needs fasting), has water and carries any medicines due during the visit.
• Tell your parent who is coming. The Genie's photo and profile are shared with you before the visit, so you can show them.

What does a Genie not do?

A Genie is a trained Kareverse team member, not a nurse or a doctor. They do not give medical advice, administer medicines or make medical decisions for your parent; they make sure your parent is heard and that you know what the doctor said. They also never sign on your parent's behalf, never handle cash, cards or PINs, and never pay bills for you.

Hospital accompaniment is for planned appointments. In a medical emergency, call 108 or 112 first. Care Plan members have 24/7 emergency support, where Kareverse arranges an ambulance, helps with admission and stays with your parent in the first hours.

How much does hospital accompaniment cost in Bangalore?

A single visit costs ₹1,500 and includes up to 3 hours, which covers most outpatient consultations. Care Plan members pay ₹1,200. If your parent has regular follow-ups, a pack of five visits costs ₹5,000 (₹4,000 for Care Plan members) and can be used within 12 months.

The price covers the Genie's time and the update. Doctor's and consultation fees, test charges, medicines and the cab are paid by your family directly, so you see exactly what each part costs. If you expect a long day, such as several tests or a day-care procedure, tell us when you book and we will confirm the time and price before the visit.

How does it compare with the other options?

A relative who knows your parent well is often the best companion, when one is free. A Genie fills the gaps: the weekday follow-up nobody can take off for, the hospital across town, or the month when the family is away.

Can I book hospital accompaniment from abroad?

Yes. Most families who book it live outside Bangalore. You can book and pay online, or message us on WhatsApp and we will talk it through first. Please give at least 24 hours' notice so we can confirm the right Genie, and we cover all of Bangalore.
